alarm stalk

I just received the new OEM alarm kit and I am not clear how I am going to operate the rear wiper with it. Currently, I can turn the **** and control it but I am unable to turn it on the new stalk. I haven't mounted it but I don't think that makes a difference.

Can anyone with the new alarm tell me how I will be able to control the rear wiper with the new alarm stalk?

Thanks.

Doesn't the alarm stalk go on the left side, with the blinker?

Mine is on the right side. I can see the front windshield symbols on it. I think the left side controls the headlights.

Depends on the year of the car. My 03 has the blinking clown nose on the right stalk.

If anyone needs to know how...

I mod'ed my wire harness to have the newer left side alarm stalk on a 2005 model - pre Jan 05 build car.

If anyone needs to know why... now that is a harder question to answer!

but it works like a champ and I now have options on the right stalk side...

update

I found out that the part was for a vert. The # in the catalog was incorrect. A new one should be arriving shortly.

yeah, why do you need a rear wiper? it messes with the lines of the car.

just yank the motor and put a plug in the glass, looks a million times better.

I kind of like the rear wiper. It sure helps me see out the rear window when it's raining.

As far as I can tell most car windows don't get dirty like the MINIS rear window. I would say 90% of the cars out there have windows that stay cleaner longer in the wet than MINIS in the dry.

But it works fine for me. To each his own.

My " blinking clown nose " ( i love that ) is on the right side. I also removed my rear wiper I found that even when i used it I was usualy spreading dirt all over the back window. I like the cleaner look of no wiper back there and now I use the rear window spray system to feed the Alta IC diverter.
