Forgive my ignorance - MMC???

I've been seeing "MMC" and a number on many sigs lately.

What is that all about?

Oh great... another lemming.

Seriously, what a waste of time.

It should be renamed UPMC - "Utterly Pointless MINI Club". A club is supposed to be more than just claiming ownership of a number!

Hey, I like my number and I waited two days to get it. I even put it on my car.

I guess we can't all be as cool as you.

Waste of time, or not. It's fun. You do know what that is, don't you?

I'm glad they BANNED you from the club.

Haha - what upsides? Please do elaborate...

LOL touche on the president part... but in her defense, being President of DCMM is a LOT to handle when you are the main club organizing the Dragon (remember, the biggest MINI event in the country). Don't forget that we scared off two previous presidents too, who moved to California.

You couldn't be more wrong, bud. It has nothing to do with being "cool", but you DO realize that the only thing that the "club" does is self-assign numbers and post them, right? And you think that's valuable? Looking for uniqueness? Why not rely on our own unique NAM name, and if you REALLY want a number, your own member ID on NAM? For what purpose does this new number serve? Absolutely none. You already did a very cool thing by putting your NAM name on your car (props for that, BTW)... so why do you think you need a meaningless number?

Of COURSE I know what fun is - why the heck do you think I drive a MINI? Besides, didn't you see the TONGUE-IN-CHEEK smiley I used? I was JOKING around at the same time I was poking fun. Hmm... sounds like it's YOU that is missing the fun.

As for being banned, HAH! I never asked to be in it, in fact I flat out refused when they TRIED to pin a number on me.

So at least please try to READ things properly next time. There's a reason that many of us deliberately choose NOT to be a part of this sillyness... including Mark, the guy in CHARGE of NAM. <cough>

My comment about cool was referring to you being above the whole MMC thing. I guess if somebody wants to join in with a goofy useless "club", they become subject to your name calling.

I never said it was valuable or unique. Just fun. Who's not "reading things properly," now?

Thanks!

BTW, I don't think I NEED a number, I just think it's funny to see the viral effects of that thead. It doesn't hurt to have one, so why not.

Sorry if I don't think being called a lemming is fun.

That was a joke. See, me being "fun".

YOU CHOOSE NOT TO BE PART OF THE SILLYNESS, BUT YOU CAN'T SEEM TO LEAVE IT ALONE.

THE BOTTOM LINE IS, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE PART OF THIS, FINE. STOP VISITING THESE THREADS AND INSULTING THE FOLKS WHO DO.

I believe the club rules prohibit the hammering of nails as contradictory to the whole slacker immage.

How about "halfheartedly bumped the nail somewhere as if it really matters or as if I really care."???

I believe the club allows "accidental bumping of a nail with an oddly shaped metal object causing the nail to be embedded in a third object of no consequence in such a manner as to not add value or reinforcement to the third object". Of course I have violated one of the rules by typing all that. :impatient

It's funny how all the other MMC members seem to be able to have this discussion, including joking with me about my disapproval. Yet you, dickdavid, their newest member, have taken it very personally.

My "lemming" comment was ALSO in jest, but apparently you took that very personally... funny how it referred to ALL MMC members (i.e. ANOTHER lemming), yet only you are offended?

And no, I will not shut up. If I want to comment, I will. That's precisely what forums are for. You have every right to look at any other thread and put your own two cents in too.

Maybe Team Craptastic is more to your liking. All you need is a JCW!

BTW - I am not a member of either club.

LOL I haven't partipated in that thread but yeah I may be a member by default.

Don't worry, you can post on the MMC thread and add the silly number to your sig too, if you want... go ahead! What are you waiting for? WHEEEEE! It's free!

EDIT: Actually, after checking, I have posted in that thread, so that qualifies as participation I guess... but it wasn't to join the Team Craptastic (intentionally, at least!).
