Anyone using the Vcom aftermarket NAV sys?

Users of the Vcom nav sys:

1) If you used the hardwired install, where did you put:
a. the "box"
b. the mike
c. the antenna

2) If you used the hardwired install, have you had an warranty issues with you Mini dealer?

I really like the Vcomm concept (no screen), but their market share seems tiny thus far so not a lot of info available on the above questions. User input much appreciated.

Thanks

I prefer using the "portable" hook-up. It's easier to move between cars

Vcom - Portable Install - Antenna

drdave, do you use external antenna in the portable mode?

what is your impression of the Vcom?

I'm due to take delivery of my new Mini soon (if I can get over being freaked out about the pitted/cracked windshield issue so often posted on NAM).

I guess using the Vcom in portable eliminates any warranty issues, but the "hardwired" install would eliminate the wire clutter. I have not been able to get an answer from my dealer about the Mini warranty vs hardwired install yet.

Vcom Hardwire vs Mini Warranty - any luck?

Hey Bryon, under dash in front of shifter sounds good. Are you planning hardwired install there?

Your Cab has lots of mods. How have the mods affected your Mini warranty service?

I use some velcro to fastend the antenna to mid part of dash as close to windshield as possible. The V-Com is quite a remarkable device. I do not leave home with out it. You can't get lost with it
