Bumper grill delete – anyone???

Is the grill on the bumper purely cosmetic?

Has anyone found or made there own delete piece like the JCW GP?

DrDrumNbass AKA Samtrak had his lower grill blended into the bumper and it came out really clean.

I was thinking of covering mine with Fiberglass. But I have to wait till I can get it painted, because I can't stand all those cars driving around with primered body kits. Just my opinion though.

The one fake looking grille slat actually lets air through (very little) There are holes in the bumper behind the bumper cover. Removing it would probably look pretty funky. The JCW cover looks cheesy IMO. Glassing it in looks nice, more like a MK1 classic.

There is no such thing as a JCW cover, thats just a stock black plastic cover. The JCW tag just clips to it

  2. NO. That picture has no "delete" kit. See that little JCW emblem on the right side of pic? Its bolted to the plastic "grille"
Do you see what Im talking about?
He means the grille in between the turn signals that has the bumper behind it, not the lower opening. In the picture he posted there is a block-off plate on it.

Ugh. JCW should have asked Samtrak to style it for them.

thanks for the kudos everyone!

i do tend to see pics of RSR strewn about this site. all is good.

i thought of the design before i owned the car... reminisent of the legendary Porsche 911 RSR, i was motivated to do something simple yet daringly different.

peep the gallery if you cant get enough here!

i dare say the people at JCW, have indeed been searching the web for ideas.

custom made... yes.

took them 2 tries to get it right. the first time you could see a faint outline still, due to the setttling of the compound. i made them redo it.

Yeah, I always wanted to get rid of that little piece - good job on your car, looks great without it!

Its funny how much the JCW front bumper looks just like the M-Tech bumper I put on my E46 (gold car) as well as the M Coupe bumper

Yep it is (although I have splitters added on mine, not pictured). Its just the the new JCW pkg bumper looks so much like it at the bottom is all.

I like it of course

everythin' fitz NiCE, no 'odd' stuff on it.....
i have the front fog chrome ring inserts (the big ones) that they sell for mini 'S' models
(so i like the l00k as well) it kinda l00k's like the JCW inserts except in chrome which i have allready taken care of that dreaded chrome look...
