Interior/Exterior Parcel Tray Install in 2006 MCS
Parcel Tray Install in 2006 MCS
I'm having a problem installing the Parcel Tray in my 2006 MCS.
The original lower panel in my MCS has 3 pivot points. The instructions that came with the parcel tray, and the instructions I found on NAM, imply there are only 2 pivot points. After rotating the bolster panel down, you are to gently "lift" it out. It is impossible to lift mine out because the center pivot point is cupped opposite the outside two pivot points. To release the center pivot point it appears you have to press it down. Or perhaps, you just have to pull like heck straight out (towards the back of the car) to remove it. I'm not too comfortable with pulling like heck. I've already pulled more than I'm cofortable. It is bending the other plastic pieces in dash.
Has anyone with a 2006 MCS installed the Parcel Tray?

they all have three tabs. once the big pull to make it swing down is done. pull out the tab that is closest to the door. then, with a slight twisting down motion, pull down and back and it should pop out of there. i have installed at least 10 to 15 of them and it always feels like it's going to snap, but it never does. but even if it does, you will never see it or need it for the new part. and most likely you will not be reinstalling the old part. so go for it, give it a yank. hope this helps, give me a call if you need more.

I installed mine the day after getting my '06. It took A LOT of force to get out. Use more force than you think you'll need to and it should come out. I don't remember how many pivot points there were, but the shelf went in pretty easy - hardest part was getting the bolster out. it is worth it, a great add-on!!!!
