I have a new 06 that has the H/K feature installed. It works great, but there are a few things that I can't find. First is the speed setting that turns the radio up and down while driving. When I hold the "note" button down, I only have options for Tone Lin, Nav volume, and Reset. The book states that speed should be in there. The other issue is that no matter what I set the Nav volume too, it is really loud when the radio is turned up. So much so that it scared the crud out of me when it shouted for me to TURN RIGHT!!!!

Anyone seen anything like this?

 

The speed sensitive volume cannot be adjusted in radios with HK... The sensitivity is handled automagically in the amp I believe. It's extremely subtle most times you A) won't notice it and B) will still turn the radio up. The HK specific manuals (which are seperate from the standard MINI manual) have incorrectly listed the setting since the HK was released in Dec 2002.

As for the Nav volume, I have a theory but since I haven't played with the Nav in 8 months I'm not confident enough to share it...

 

Okay, I haven't messed with the Nav volume in a long time either, and I may be confusing it with how the TrafficPro works in the other car, but I think that you can adjust the volume it has with the radio while its talking (with the normal volume **** or steering wheel control).
