Has anyone tried a set 0f 215/45/17 inch tires on a MCS? My "S" will be fitted with the Slites and all season run flats. Good for winter maybe; but need something else for summer. Thinking about OZ Crono Evolution or BBS RK and either Michelin Pilot Sport, Perelli PZero Nero or Yokohama AVS 100's. Any comments / suggestions happily accepted.

I've read somewhere on this board that 215/45-17's on stock S-lite's will rub, whereas stock size obviously won't. The 215 will also change your overall diameter, altering the accuracy of the speedo and odometer.

Going to the wheels you mentioned have less offset, pushing the wheels further out. My guess is that they will be more likely to rub, even with stock 205/45-17's. Hopefully someone with these combo's will post and give real-world feedback.

good luck,
Ryan

I have 215/45x17 Yoko ES100s on SSR Comps and have no rubbing.

Welcome to MCO!

That's the same stock tire/wheel combination I have, and I can verify that you WILL want to get new tires (and possibly wheels) soon. First, those "all season" tires are bad in snow (which may or may not be an issue for you). Replacing them with a proper snow tire in winter will give you a true 4-season car. Second, the runflat tires stink for all of the reasons discussed on this forum and others. Heavy, expensive to replace, poor performance. Third, the Slite wheels are very heavy wheels. Replace them with lighter alloys and lighter tires and you'lll see performance improve notably. I've noticed this by replacing the Slites (during the winter) with 15" steel wheels running Blizzak snows. World of difference. I'll be sad to return to the runflat/Slite combo in the spring, but for fiscal reasons I've decided to wear out the runflats before replacing them.

I've heard that the Yokohamas are good (in the stock 17" size), and they fit on the stock wheels...thereby allowing you to save some bucks while removing the biggest negative in the OEM tire/wheel equation (i.e., the sucky runflats).
