langoliers hit MD roads, wheel busted, help?

oy. gotta love the maryland department of transportation and their excuse for "road improvement." hit a "hole" that was so big my entire wheel and then some fit right in it. check out pics below:

as you can see, both the outside and inside lip is bent, to say the least... is it this repairable, or do i have to buy a whole new rim?? can anyone reccommend a shop for either the repair or good place to buy rims in the northern half of maryland?

Was it actually in a construction zone? If so, you can be reimbursed in some states for things like this. One of my co-workers got a new tire courtesy of L.A. Check and see if Maryland has something similar...

Where did that happen? The hazards of running ultra low profile tires.

Dang!! Ouch!!! We hit one just as big several months back out here in CA - the CA Dept. of Transportation told us to pound sand.... We were able to fix the wheel and had tire insurance so it was only a $15 replacement fee - whew!!

I hope MDT comes through for you...

Ye Olde Wheel Shoppe

in Elkridge MD - they'll repair your wheel to brand new for about $100.00. I think this is the addy -

Ye Olde Wheel Shop
6363 Washington Blvd.
Elkridge, MD 21227
410-796-8400
800-526-8260

I've used them before when I bent a pair of expensive BBS wheels on a 91 GTi 16v.
