How do you run speaker cable into the doors?

I took a few minutes to examine the single entry point (via rubber tube/grommet) into the door for speaker wire and it looks impossible! Do I need to remove the doors to get some decent speaker wire in there?

Ok just realized it is impossible unless you drill a hole through the body inside the door frame. That blows.

from what i hear, you can just drill out the unused holes in the block of wires and run hem thru there.....

or just go buy a new tube that runs between the doors and open two holes below the exising ones so you can have anohter full rount for wires to go thru....

ok, i guess thats an understandable explanation....

My problem is that on my 2005 all of the stock harness pin points appear to be in use - there's no room for me to drill out the stock harness without losing some existing pins.

I drilled a hole just aft of the harness, through the plastic harness housing. My speaker wire is braided with an external sheath, so it should be fine just zip tied to the stock rubber tubed bundle.

There was no way I was running power from a PPI amp to a Diamond Audio Hex component set through those dinky little stock wires! :-P

Going to have to put em in the doors I guess. I'd hoped to put them in the rear side panels just east and west of the boot, but there was no way that I was getting two sets of wires per door squeezed in.

The Diamond crossovers are *HUGE*. I mean RIDICULOUSLY HUGE. Good for sound quality and longevity but awful for svelte placement. I'll probably end up double-sided-taping them to the outer door skin, behind the window, approximately mid-door. *shrug*

I mounted mine in the boot and ran a plenium type 4 conductor from monster cable out to the doors. The wire is standard 12g and I did the same as you with the drill out and zip tie. Works well and the sound is just fantastic!

BTW Nice choice in comps. I went with a custom Seas/vifa set up myself.
Let us know how it sounds when complete!!
