Supersprint exhaust
Supersprint exhaust
I just talked to my local (only) speed shop here in Seoul concerning staging my 2004 MCS. They recommend and use Supersprint exhaust with header and am told and was shown a 20hp on the wheels gain just with exhuast mod on a 2005 MCS automatic. Is anyone else out there using Supersprint and what kind of hp gains have you seen? Your input is appreciated.
Currently we are negotiating my stage build which will include; headwork, cam, throttle body, ECU (7300 or so rpm limit), 15% pulley, plugs, coil, CAI, header, exhaust, intercooler, and possibly coilovers. (all for a good price including parts and labor).
My Lil Red Rocket will definately be one Bad A** Mini when done.

I have the supersprint sport catback on my car and am very pleased with the system. The sound is great and it does free-up some hp, but nowhere near 20whp, probably only like 3 or 4. With the header and full exhaust I'd be surprised if it opened up more than 10whp, but it's a great exhaust system.
dufrinr, I would recommend you have a look at the OBX header. It is an exact copy of the supersprint sport header, but at a fraction of the cost : $175 !!!! It is sold in EBAY and that is how I got mine. I have it in my MINI for almost a year now and it is great. Cost, shipping and installation was under $250!!!. You do need a CAT, to weld to it, but the results are great. I used my Stock Cat. Notice the 10 Nt-M torque gain so uniformly across the rpm band, in the Dyno chart in page 1. OBX was going to make a Cat-Back for the MINI S, but I got a Remus catback. Just the OBX header will make you happy.
I would agree with the other post in that just the catback will not do a whole lot for you. The stock header has two CATs and the OBX/supersprint header removes one of them. That pre-cat is there only for the first few minutes of the warm up of the car. If you have the catback supersprint, I would install the header and really see an improvement.
