Once Upon a Time, there was an MCS and a Tiburon V6...

In keeping with the theme of BriNYU's post, let me tell you my story.

I was eastbound on either I-64 or I-664 going to Virginia Beach. There was a Tiburon V6 stuck in traffic with me. When the road opened to four lanes, I passed a couple of cars in the left lane, in front of the Tiburon. After having passed the the last car I intended to pass, I moved over one lane becasue I was approaching a hill of which I can not see the bottom.

At this point I hear/see him coming up to pass me. He goes flying by me, gesturing. I filed in behind him, and showed him what the MCS can do. I looked down the hill (over the top of the Tiburon) and saw a VA state trooper hidden in a break in the jersey divider. I hit the brakes and fall into the middle lane. I'm shocked as he didn't even see the trooper and continued on. He must've been clocked at 85-90 while I was sitting pretty at 65. I see the trooper pull out and right behind him. Sure enough, he was pulled.

And lo, the skies did turn a coal gray. The heavens crack'd with light as the Hand of Mod descendeth. The people of Nam quaked in fear as Mod did destroy the thread which containeth the evil spectre of Street Racing. Now order is restoreth to the land, and the People of Nam are saved.

Maybe I should have said "And lo, the skies did turn a Dark Silver"?

ha ha, you're all funny and all, but I didn't say I was speeding. I said we just got out of some heavy traffic. Delete if you wish.

Well, you may not have actually SAID you were speeding, but "showing him what the MCS can do" sounds like speed. Especially since no corners were involved in your scenario, only a hill.

good for the MCS sorry for tiburon.

we do not encourage speeding on public roads and highways, however lets be honest...

i had a similar event with a Acura RSX, first smoked him, then had him pulled over

Again, speeding is bad, keep it in the limits...
Be safe....

 I intentionally did not say I was speeding.

I think it's okay, since it was the other guy who was actually speeding.

This will serve as an example to those who might be contemplating a 'speed contest' on public roads.

I for one make sure I never exceed posted speed limits when I post in NAM.

I must now hit 'Submit Reply' before I pee my pants from excessive supressed giggling.

I am sure the hill only served to highlight the well thought out spring rates and shock absorber jounce/rebound dynamics of the MINI's chassis design, not to mention the advantages of the MINI's long wheelbase vs overall length ratio. This of course can be demonstrated at normal as opposed to excessive vehicle speeds. After all, not all roads are straight and flat.
