Drivetrain 15 vs 17 vs 19 with JCW intake and injectors
15 vs 17 vs 19 with JCW intake and injectors
Hi All,
I have done a lot of research into many different threads concerning pulley upgrades. However, I would still like to hear from all of you concerning similar mods to the ones below:
1. 15 with ECU and injectors CAI exhaust (injectors necessary? I've read somewhere that injectors with 15% helps, after all, JCW does it.)
2. 17 ECU injectors CAI exhaust (GIAC ECU mod good?)
3. 19 " (GIAC IS good, what about SC redline?)
My rig has JCW intake and injectors. I want to do a pulley, hence the thread. I like 15 but this may have made the injector upgrade unnecessary.
17 sounds like injectors are necessary, but not a whole lot of info about this mod with GIAC ecu.
19 and injectors GIAC is much talked about and gets glowing reviews. I am a little concerned about SC redline, so if ya'll can post how long ya'll runnin? Any other problems with 19? Heard a little about pinging.
HOW BOUT THIS NICE WEATHER IN CALIFORNIA?

I had 18,000 miles on the 15, and have put another 29,000 on the 19. No problems. I use M7 injectors on the 19, stock injectors were on the 15.
Have used Webb/Powerchip ECU for 40,000 miles. Probably go to Unichip for a custom dyno tune like SpyderX did.
I do change belts every 10k or so with the 19, because I'm compulsive...
I arbitrarily use 6500 as a self-imposed redline.

Did you hear somewhere that you needed to change the belts so often?
Can't recall a specific recommendation re changing belts.
Just thought it'd be safer since there have been some documented belt issues on tracked cars. I do compete in auto-x in my car, plus occasional track days, so it gets pushed a bit, not to mention my street/hwy behavior...
