That looks pretty cool, but a little much in my opinion.

Got any more pictures of the rest of that MINI?

Oooh, the Mini goes EVO VIII-style

Me likey-a-lot. Can you get the hood in CF? Also, what would you do when it's raining (ie. open-top CAI &/or M7 AGS)? Company name, ordering information, etc?

hood

I bet the car's electronics will like all the extra water they get when it rains or you wash the car. I do like the idea even if it's stolen. EVO

Obviously it looks like an EVO hood, but does it negatively impact the airflow over the intercooler? I would bet that it creates more problems and is not functional, but is more for looks.

I hope that isn't your MCS that you just bought. If it is, mannnnn you just butchered it with that Orange in my opinion. Not sure what you were going for here with that color scheme. Your BMW 3-series looks so coool.

Now.....be careful, this may revive that debate on whether vendors should actually produce proof their mods deliver any results

Personally, I'd stick with what the manufacturer came up with, body-design wise... plus what MINI did just plain *looks* great.
On the other hand, components UNDER the hood I'd definitely alter after lengthy guinea-pig testing by *other* MINI owners -- so long as they didn't VOID the warranty.

I too like the stock body design. On the other hand I'm that guinea-pig you are referring to

here you go:

http://www.autohausschaefer.de/mini-clubsport/

this mini is only driven on the nurburgring and the hood helps a lot to let the temps out from the exhaust. the company above will release hoods and frontends with other air outlets very soon. the material is gfk.

this mini is pushing purschs on the track and believe me that the guys worry about other things than the hood when this mini overtakes them and they have to smell this mini fumes :-))

here is abig pic of this mini in action:

I'm gonna guess they did it as more of a function thing than a visual thing

Assuming that anyone who would change hoods has already swapped to an open element air filter like the Alta, doesn't that mean when it rains your air intake and your ECU get wet?

I find it amusing that there is much discussion about short shifters as a performance enhancement, but these very serious German modders go completely opposite with ultra long shifters. Look for the shifters in these photos:

I would imagine that the throw is still shorter on those. I would assume it is to keep the driver from having to move his hand very far while going back and forth from the steering wheel.

The blue hoood scoop looks like it would allow more air into the front scoop by allowing it to quickly escape throught the vents ...which should flow more air over the IC.

As far as looks go...i really like that green hood .

They are strictly track cars....although it would be possible to mod it. The EVO has hidden vents under that vent to keep water out. Stick you head in one when you see one parked.

In terms of the short shifter....that is a short shifter, it just has an extension on it. Onasled had his extended as well. You still get the benefits of a shoter throw....but have the **** up where you can reach it

I don't like the evo hood whatsoever. It's too angular, doesn't fit the design of the rest ofthe body, looks added on, or ordered from Jegs. I like the vented hood much better.
