Interior/Exterior New Racing Stripes
Thought I show you all the new stripes that were recently installed for one of our customers in Atlanta. They also come in white, silver or shadow.

Matt,
Looks killer! I'm getting a LY/W with tinted windows and white bonnet stripes. I'd like to have this set-up. Do you think the black would go good with the color combination? How much does it cost for the stripes (uninstalled)? How hard is it to remove the factory stripes?

The factory stripes are not too hard to uninstall. Use a hair dryer or heat gun and warm the stripe to loosen the adhesive. Start at one end and gently pull.
If stripes are purchased separately they are $99.00 for the bonnet and $84.00 for the boot or $170.00 for the set. We can also do a roof stripe in the same pattern.
The bonnet stripe comes pre-cut and runs from the back of the bonnet to the scoop and a second piece coming out of the scoop to the edge of the bonnet. The Boot is pre-cut also.
I think the black stripe would look great on the LY MINI

Now, to put the new ones on, do I need to remove the wax job or does it go over that? If I need to remove the wax, what type of products are recommended?

First combine some rubbing alcohol and soap (like Joy) together in a spray bottle. This can be a very weak mixture. Spray it on the surface area and wipe clean with a lint free cloth or towel. Then use a pure soap and water mixture in a spray bottle and apply it over the surface of the MINI where the decal will go. The soap will allow you to move the decal into the correct position while on the car. The kit comes with a squeegee that will help you pull out trapped air and water. The only other thing you may need is a razor blade to cut some of the edges and a tape measure to align the graphic.
I hope this helps.

Matt,
For just the bonnet, does the kit include stripes for the Grille Slats?
I notice the car used for display had the aero grille, but for those of us with the factory grille, it might be nice to have the strips on there too. just a thought.

The Bonnet kit will come in two pieces. The first running from the back of the bonnet to the scoop. There will be a bit extra to run under the scoop itself. The second piece will come out of the scoop and to the bottom of the bonnet.
This installer decided to cut short what was used going over and out of the scoop and used the extra pieces to run down the front of the aero kit. I think it looks good either way.

Will the solution harm the paint? And, does a 'placement' photo come with the kit?

This is my MINI pictured... I highly recommend Matt and cooperflags.com! Totally customer oriented!! If anyone in the Atlanta area wants to see the car in person to evaluate the stripes, you can call me at "My Brew Heaven" (homebrewing and winemaking supplies) at 770-534-5517 in Gainesville, GA.
I had the stripes put on by the same installers who tinted my windows... I figured it was worth the $85 they charged me to make sure the job was done right, although I'm sure I could have done it myself. Matt provided enough extra material to allow for mistakes, if you need to do an area over again.
Since putting the stripes on, I've overheard several people comment on them. All favorable comments! I really like the aggressive look of these stripes. I'm thinking, though, of adding white pinstrip accents to the outer edges, sort of like the "factory" stripes, just to make them stand out even more. Thoughts?
Cheers,
Craig

Here are some updated pictures of a silver stripe on a DS MINI. The stripe on this one goes over the roof for a very cool look.

That looks great, Matt. Are folks removing the MINI badge or cutting around it with a razor? That looks like it would be a tough trim job for all but experts.
Also, do you have any pics of a the stripes in Shadow?
Thanks,
JS

Those stripes look great. Still wondering what color of this version of stripes would look good on a pepperwhite/black min? Any suggestions?
PS: What is that huge computer looking thing in the background of the above picture?

At this time the MINI badges are being sut out with a razor. It's not as hard as it seems. We looked at pre-cutting the logo out, but this leaves ZERO room for error when doing the installation and actually makes things harder.
Shadow, Shadow, Shadow...I don't have any pictures yet. Hopefully I have someone on the hook who is going to go with the shadow checkered pattern. As soo as I get pictures I will post them.

I suggest going with a black stripe or check design for the boot/bonnet. For the roof I'd say either a black/pepper white check pattern or a full stripe over the top. I also think that doing a stripe in a light blue would also look cool on the PW.
The machine in the background is what we use to make our graphics. We can make some pretty big stuff for airplanes, buildings and tractor trailers.

THAT'S MY MCS DS/DS IN MATT'S PIC!!!!!!!! I can't say enough about the quality of both the graphic and the customer service experience with Cooper Flags. Matt's onto something and I expect Cooper Flags to quickly establish themselves as leaders in the MINI graphics arena.
As soon as the snow stops (Nashville, Tn??), I'll post some more pics.
THANKS AGAIN MATT!!

Matt -welcome to MCO!
I do not have any pictures of the racing stripe on a black MINI, but I do have pictures of a black MINI with our checkered stripe kit. Either of these two kits will work with the MC as well as the MCS. Let me know if I can help out in any other way. Matt@cooperflags.com
