I would like to buy a 2002 to present damaged, but rebuildable salvage Mini Cooper S. Color is of no concern. This is going to be a race car project! Please let me know if you have or know of one for sale!

Damaged 2005 Mini Cooper S with only 200 miles.
I have access to a 2005 Cooper S with only 200 miles(yup 200 miles), however, the car was written-off as "irrepairable" here in Canada, even though there is minimal damage. I've spent 30+ minutes inspecting the car, trying to see why they've given it an "irreapairable" status and can't figure-out why the insurance company has deemed it so. I've talked to the insurance company, had them take a 2nd look at it, and they are standing by their original assigned status. Oh well.
The Mini was driven into a curb and the left front a-arm got crumpled and pushed-back a bit. Other than that, the engine needs a new oilpan and clutch cover, and a new dash as well since the airbags deployed. But, this is all that is needed. Heck, the front grill/bumper didn't even get damaged! Otherwise, the car is MINT.
As for road use, unfortunately, I'm not sure if u.s. laws would allow you to insure a Canadian "Irrepairable" Mini in the u.s. even after it is fixed. I'm currently in the process of trying to determine if it can be insured in the u.s. as I'm not sure how insurance companies work in the states. Here in Canada, our laws are such that once a vehicle is deemed "irrepairable", it can NEVER be licensed for the street ever again. It's a parts only vehicle, no if's, and's, or but's. I was going to post the car on the forums, Ebay, etc., but, wanted to find-out what options a u.s. buyer has if they'd buy it from me.

The vehicle is going up for auction at a private auction house at the end of this coming week, and, although I do not own the vehicle yet, I have every intention of bidding on it. Unfortunately, I won't be able to set a price until I know my cost (once the auction is over). I have a rough idea on how much I should spend on it, but, I haven't nailed-down a firm maximum bid. By posting on this thread, I'm hoping to gain some insight on how much interest their is for this vehicle and solidify my maximum bid prior to the auction date.
look what i found....
would you like LHD or RHD? same price!!!!
