Apexi AFC for MC?
Apexi AFC for MC?
If an MC has stumble or hesitation in first gear on acceleration would installing an Apexi AFC help this problem?
What else might need to be installed- hardware? Larger injectors, larger throttlebody? Cold air intake? Cat back exhaust?
What amount of adjustment needs to be done to find what settings would work best? Using a dyno- how long would it take? Half day? Has someone already done the work for an MC?
Do you need an upgraded ECU program as well or use the stock version?
What would be the downside if it were to work and help minimize the hesitation? Lower mpg?
Are there other ways to deal with the stumble or hesitation that would be simplier/less costly?
Thanks for any suggestions- I'm trying to help an MC owner.

My own opinion is that Apexi APC is better suited for the MCS and used with other mods like those mentioned above or in conjunction with ECU upgrades.
I'm having an S-AFCII installed on the 25th this month. Its going to be tuned on the dyno...i'd be happy to answer any questions regardging it.
Is the hesitation all that you are trying to fix??
I had the dealer upgrade my software, and...for the most part it fixed it, but it kinda came back after a while.

Yes, just stumble and hesitation in first gear.
My other thought is that this is partly due to the throttle by wire mechanism on the MINI. We see this lag on throttle in the MCS alot.
What other engine/power upgrades do you have to your MC?

they're all in my sig...just HAI...high flow cat, custom cat back, and soon to be installed header/safc2...
the upgraded software fixed that problem for me...mostly anyways...it slowly came back to some degree, but its not nearly as annoying. I'll be sure to let you know if the tune gets rid of it all together, and i'll mention that to my mechanic when he tunes it for me.
