NAM Dragon on DVD Announcement

This is just a quick announcement and confirmation that my primary purpose for attending the Dragon this year is to video it, and put together a DVD of the event. I will be covering as many events as humanly possible, and since I won't have a MINI, I'll just do my best to keep up with you guys.

I will also be covering the event for a MINI magazine, so anyone interested in being mentioned (to tell me about your experiences from Day 1 to Day 3), let me know.

I'll be offering a Presale price for the DVD at $25 which will be valid up until the DVD is ready for sale--which I predict will be in about 2 to 3 months after the Dragon--thus around September.

At that time the expected sales price will be $35, so if you want to save $10, support my efforts and prepay. There will be a link to do so in the near future. Keep an eye out in the Vendor Annoucements area.

There will be a flyer included in the registration bags mentioning this DVD as well.

Looking forward to seeing you all in a few days.

I will be grateful for any video, pictures, or stories submitted about the event, and I will comp anyone who's submission I end up using in the production with a free DVD.

Richard

Fantastic idea. I want one, for sure. Looking forward to the link to prepay... unless of course you'll take prepayments in person at the Dragon.

Thanks Edge!

I will be taking prepayments at the Dragon as well. Not sure if I made this clear or not in my original post, but this video is exclusive to NAM, that is, it's something Mark and I have talked about for the past year, and because my son was born a few weeks before the Dragon last year, I wasn't able to do anything then.

I'd love to put a blurp about the charity at the welcome dinner if possible. I'll be the guy sitting at the table with the huge quilt behind him.

Thanks everyone!!! While there will be tons of people, I will be recognizeable by:

1.)VacuCams (bright orange suction cup thingys)
2.)5'10" Asian guy with all kinds of electronics with him
3.)Black Shirt with VacuCam logo on it (ugh still got to screen them today)
4.)Counterfeit #95 MINI (I have no idea what kind of rental I will have)
5.)I will want to be interviewing some people for my article, so I'll be out and about talking to people looking for feedback.
6.)Guy giving out Octane Motion Relief packets
7.)I expect to be arriving at the Welcoming Dinner just about the time my flight rolls in and I do my 1 hour drive(hopefully not getting lost), so I might be kinda frantic.
8.)At the very least, you can call me on my cell at 310 985 0333

Whewww, that's about all I can think of right now!

If I were just to go with #2, then I have about a dozen OctaneGuys running around the building here!

Great idea, OG, your DVD will undoubtedly be awesome. Just look at your subject matter! I hope to see you around too. If your rental cant keep up with the pack, you can ride shotgun with me. If you dare.

re: Asian guys with toys
Hahahahhahahaha

re: Rental
Oh I don't plan to drive that on the Dragon---I'm hoping to get some rides in real MINI's once I'm there, and I most certainly will take you up on the offer to ride shotgun, if you don't mind me wiring up my VacuCam system to capture it---uhm the outside action, not the gut wrenching action of me tossing that is.

By all means, sure. I I'll probably be one of the biggest gadget geeks you will find up there, so I certainly dont mind snaking wires around my car and playing with equipment around me. Besides, I've been interested in a VacuCam for a while, and seeing the setup up close and personal will be a big plus. It just might result in a sale too.

Heh heh cooool. I like gadget freaks!!!! Well, it's your original Brake Diode Thread that I documented that has made me famous in local circles as well so I don't mind sharing more of my latest gadgets with you.

I've actually got a new experimental mount that I'm excited about that I haven't fully tested yet, but is opening up a whole bunch of new mounting possibilities. I'll be bringing that with me as well.

I'll be likely setting up atleast a 3 channel system with an external mic---will require about 15 minutes of setup with another 15 - 20 minutes of testing--most of that time is spent running wires. The mounts take seconds to attach.

Thanks!!

Please be sure to come up to me if you see me. This applies to anyone that's replied to a thread here about the video or for any other matter. Please don't be shy. I tend to get overloaded by people asking questions about c3 or VacuCams but I want to get to everyone, so please don't hesitate to come up to me.

Richard

Hahah

I will have some with me. Originally I was going to bring tons, but I misjudged the popularity, and my inventory flew out the door in the past couple weeks. So I will have a few systems available. But I will definitely have my 2 personal systems for people to play with---if they aren't in use that is.

I'd like to get them set up on as many MINI's as people want to try it out.

Great!!! Would love to see any good footage that you'd like to contribute! I'll only be looking for a few minutes of the best stuff you got. Would prefer steady footage, not hand held (shaky cam).

Cya in a few days!
