Any recommended dougnut spares?

I have a Mini S and am going to non-runflats. Don't trust fix-a-flat and air compressors for every emergency. Thought I'd stick a doughnut tire in a bag in the back seat since I don't use the back seat. Any ideas?

I bought a regular size rim and tire and keep it in the garage. I would not carry something that heavy in the Mini. If you were to be in an accident of 20mph+ it would become projectile and kill someone.

OE Cooper spare...

I ordered the OE Cooper spare wheel & tire from my local Mini dealer parts dept. then got a niffty black carrying bag w/ a handle. Weighs 10/12lbs & fits behind the passengers seat (my choice) or in the boot.
Cost $188.00 plus $28 for the very well made cloth bag.
Love it/money well spent!!

PS. somewhere on NAM is a post w/ the bag ladies website (she's in NJ.) She makes/sews several items for Mini owners.

The bolt pattern is the same as a Honda Civic, you should be able to pick up a spare (doughnut) at a salvage yard for next to nothing.

Marksmith - Does it fit in the boot with the shelf in place? For some reason I assumed it would be too tall.

Honda spare ET?

I was told by someone locally that the Honda spare wheel ET (and maybe even the hub center dia.) was not a good fit for the Mini. If this is not so then great. The spare is about 1.5" taller than the rear seat back.
