So the wife and I want to attend some big MINI events within the next couple years. We can't make the Dragon this year but will next year. I know AMVIV (A MINI Vacation In Vegas) happened early in April. What are some other MINI events around the country throughout the year? Post what, when and where they are.

The weekend closest to the summer solstice in June. Over 200 MINIs. MINI USA involvement and sponsorship, lots of cool door prizes, lots of fun events and drives, drive to the summit of Mt. Washington for the sunset and charity fund raising.

Last year there were 143 MINIs, and that number should grow quite a bit this year. Proceeds go to the Fredericksburg Academic Boosters.

FYI, MOTD is always the first full weekend in May.

Time and place change every year to suit the host clubs.

Spring Thing is traditionally in late February and held in Florida. Some changes happening in this event for next year.

 

Eurofest in Franklin, Tennessee is a good one. It features a lot of Euro cars, not just MINIs. The MINI club of Nashville is going to show up, it will be our first year to attend as a club. Also, last year, I went to Indianapolis for the US Grand Prix. There, the Indiana MINI club had a cookout the day before the race. On the day of the race, there was a concourse on the unused portion of the track. I believe abut 30 MINIs showed as well as plenty of other enthusiasts and their clubs. It was one of the coolest things I've ever been a part of. However, I don't know if Indiana will be holding the event this year, but its not until June, I think.

 

I thought I saw something about a trip to Kings Island in Southern Ohio. I think for the opening of the Italian Job ride. Of course that's probably more of a one-time event...

AMVIV was early MARCH, not April, and will probably continue to be early March.

 

Thanks for the correction Agro. The powers that be here do not see the need for a sticky or other solution that provides a comprehensive list of ANNUAL MINI ONLY gatherings. Guess people like me will just have to do it the hard way and try and pay attention every day for when they get mentioned.

 

There is a National Events forum on here that gets decent usage.

I still don't see why there is resistance to a sticky thread with just a listing of ANNUAL MINI only events. It could be locked and only altered by a moderator.
