Graphic opinion needed
It's your standard CooperS graphic, I've got one side done and just don't know, they may be a little young. I've also got a set of black bonnet stripes going on and the checkerboard mirror caps will be coming off.
So if you've got a minute, give me your opinion:

Thanks

Share your pain Smokey, I'm only 35 but I can't pull myself to adding stripes or decals until I find something a little more sophisticated. My pic looks good on a computer screen but what would I look like driving a soccer shoe
The following is IMHO and may be comparable to interpreting stale tea leaves:
First, it's such a nice garage with lots of space and a double hung window. Not many garages have windows and they should. It is too nice to leave the ceiling unpainted. That was not your question, but as a designer I can't help but notice.
The car has a beautiful, subtle color and good looking wheels. The neutral background allows you to add rather noticeable graphics without making folks wince. Might be interesting without the "COOPER"--just a black band with the red "S". Then people might wonder what you're trying to communicate--the enigma thing could add interest while not looking so much like advertising for MINI. As RallyMini mentioned the checkerboard mirrors may have to go though, but you already know that.
Is it too young is a sensitive and complex question. To me the car and graphic convey the following: what one might see at a car show; good design; good color combo; so good that they suggest refined taste; yet refined taste doesn't seem consistent with having big lettering on the side of a car that someone drives on the street; but it could work if this is a first car for a teen or early 20s but not someone already with a career; or the car could be a salve for the midlife phenomenon so the graphics are needed to herald the adventurous spirit within while being subdued by that spirit's refined taste; or perhaps the car was purchased used by someone who does not even notice the graphic; or it is being driven on a bet or dare; or else it is owned by a MINI booster who just wants his car to be more individual and look good which may be closer to reality.
It's your car. Have fun with it. And happy motoring.

Here's my opinion, file it wherever you may.
putting a decal on your car that says what your car is, reminds me of those funny "powered by" Decals. Powered by Honda often seen on a Honda. Decal's like this say "hey, I think you're a moron, look what My car is called!"
I like the idea however of the band with just the S, that conveys mystery and pride. Good Call Mork
And as Rally said, lose the checks.
I hope our comments help ya a bit! And it is your car, do what makes YOU happy.

Thanks for all the comments they confirmed what I was thinking, and as of 2:00am the stripes were gone.
CSAMF - LMAO on the soccer shoe! Its been a real chore trying to find that "just right" graphic. IMO the car needs something there, maybe I won't feel that way once I get the aerokit sideskirts. The plan is to continue the body color down onto the sill plate cover.
STLMINI - Yours was the deciding comment. As soon as I stepped back from the car I noticed the "S" was too high and rotated slightly to the right. But by then it was too late, adhesion has taken hold and even though I tried to reposition it, I could tell that it wasn't going to work, so left it alone. I said that if someone else noticed it, off it would come.
morknmini - Thanks! The garage is a work in progress. We just got the drywall up and finished, the cabinets and work surfaces mounted 2 months ago. The ceiling and floor will be completed this summer, once I can get my son-in-law up to help with the stimpling. Oh how I hate doing drywall. The floor will be your standard color flecked epoxy in a soft gray.
seeya - Fantastic car! Love the R-90's, aerokit and ghost Cooper. How low did you drop that thing?
dom & skywarrior - nice try
and thanks.

I love it....
I would generally be one of those that say "NOT MY THING" but I like the way this looks. I have really grown to like some of these side graphics...and the best part is you really don't see that many of them.

I was disappointed to hear you were taking off your mirror covers, but you are right, they don't really work. What are you replacing them with? Just curious.
Sweet car, love the wheels, and please post new updated pics!

Gotta chime it. . .
I'm 44 and usually like the subtle (don't like the current crop of 'look-at-me' Japanese cars) and hated the Screaming Chicken Trans Ams of the 70's and 80's, but I really, REALLY liked the stripes on the DS MCS. I was looking at the same (or real similar) stripe for our car. . .but to each his own, I guess.
