Detroit tuned grill

hi,

does anyone know if this grill will fit a non-aero kit bumber without modification or taking off the bumber?

http://www.detroittuned.com/products...20050304200018

If it's a simple "unscrew re-screw" procedure, i'm in!:smile:

Thanks

Their copy says these are the "factory" grills, so I would surmise that they have the same issues with a non aero kit bumper that are already known.

That's what i was afraid of...

But they also say:

"however you can put these in your stock-bumper MINI Cooper or Cooper S"

which implies that they are different in some way. They should be more clear on what they are selling, and should say how long it takes to install.

Yes they do fit on non Aero Bumpers. I have personally seen my buddies Rye and Agokart aka the Chad Man do these simple modifications

I have fitted these to my MCS (it would be the same for an MC) and can guarantee you that:

1) You will need to modify the lower grille to fit it flush with the non-Aero bumper;

2) You will need to modify the non-Aero bumper to make the lower grille fit flush;

3) You will need to remove the bumper to modify it and to attach the lower grille.

See THIS POST for instructions, links and pix.

Before I picked up my MINI, I had ask the dealer if they would put the aero grills on the stock non aero bumper. They said they would and charged me $200 for parts and labor. Check out my gallery pics and see
