Navigation & Audio iPod Adapter (No luck with a search)
iPod Adapter (No luck with a search)
I am looking for a link to purchase a quality mini stereo to mini stereo cord for my 03 MCS. I have a 20G iPod that I want to connect to the Aux input. I have a cord now, but it requires an adaptor to use it. The adaptor sticks way up, hitting the bottow of the toogle switches. I just want to stick with using the cupholder to hold the iPod, no issues with the exception of the adaptor. Any help will be appreciated.
I searched the web using google but there are so many options that I'm getting confused about what specific cord I need. I have also been to several Radio Shacks without success. HELP!!!

I walked into Radio Shack with my iPod and the aux jack itself (I installed my own, so this was possible). Looking at the two items, they quickly told me that I need a 1/8" to 1/8" two-way cable, and found me a four-foot one for a couple dollars. Works great!
Who sold you the cord that requires an adapter?

Does the brand name make a difference in quality? Any links to a specific cord, preferably a short cable around 3-4 feet in length?
I used the cable I had for a different MP3 player, which also required the adapter. I have been searching for the correct cord for awhile now with no luck. My own fault since I have only checked at Radio Shack.
Thanks for your help.

Radio Shack does carry the cord you need, as that's where I got mine. Just ask for a 1/8in male to male patch cable. All they had at the time was a 6 footer at the store I went to. Nothing a pair of wireties couldn't fix...
I'm getting ready to head to Radio Shack to pick up the cord. On the website it said this particular store has it in stock. We'll see.
Thanks again for the help.

If the radio shack cable does not work well call Dryer and Reinbold... Though it may cost more money, I ordered the IPod adapter for my '05, I think with installation it ran something like $185. This is expensive but your IPod will not be out in the open ( anti-theft/rattles), the is cord hard wired into the mini stereo, and all you have to do to change the song is hit the change track button on your M/F Steering Wheel, or the stereo itself, no more messing with your IPod while you are motoring (safer
), no buzz, and it has kickin' sound quality, I would have majorly regreted it if I didn't have it on my Cooper S.

Found the cable
I bought the only cable Radio Shack had in stock for $5. It's 6 feet long so I am going to have to wrap up the extra cable but it will fit snugly on one of the small spaces created by the glove box organizer. Thanks again for all your assistance. This is a great place!
