Cool 2018 Countryman JCW All4

Hey everyone!

This is my second attempt at posting, but I recently picked up a (new-to-me) 2018 Countryman JCW ALL4, and I absolutely love it!

I'm starting to plan out my build, and I'm looking to keep it straightforward with just the following mods:
  1. Intake
  2. Exhaust
  3. Suspension
  4. Wheels
I've already knocked out my first mod with a taillight swap (see photo below):

Right now, I'm mainly looking for some advice on the intake and exhaust. On my old 2012 Countryman, I ran an M7 Speed intake and a Borla exhaust. However, it looks like the aftermarket scene has changed quite a bit since then. The setups I used to rely on are either no longer available for this model, or the quality just isn't what it used to be.

Since I plan on handling the wrenching myself, I'm looking for recommendations on high-quality, reliable setups that you all are running. Any guidance is hugely appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Welcome, I run the Dinan carbon fibre intake, looks great and sounds great. Also run the Dinan intake resonator delete. The combination gives great intake and flutter sounds, but not too invasive. There are other good choices also but that is what I went with.
JCW exhaust is pretty good already if you have the valved exhaust. A high-flow down-pipe install is often considered as an upgrade but is a very tough install for the All4 as the drive shaft is in the way. There has been some discussion on resonator delete.
ECU tune should likely be the next consideration.

Thanks!!! I love Dinan's stuff; had some in my M5.

As per the exhaust, I feel like it's a little too quiet for my liking, hence why I want to replace it.

Prepare to spend some cash….

Typically, it’s bigger intercoolers, some type of free flowing intake, full exhaust, then a tune.

Not many intercooler options out there for the F60 JCW. There are a couple decent options in the EU, but shipping makes them not viable. Wagner seems to be the best option for us in the US.

I’ve read that the 3rd gen intakes are actually pretty good for air flow, so a drop in high-flow filter is actually a better option. Do change out the resonator pipe and MAF connector pipe. Dinan looks to be the low cost option for the resonator pipe, and MMX makes a slick MAF connector pipe.

For down pipe, the All4 driveshaft makes install a bit tricky. Install will require dropping the drive shaft or subframe, unless you go with a down pipe that is split to ease the install. Evolution Racewerks makes a down pipe that has a split clamp in the middle to make installation easier. Cost seems reasonable, too. On the back end for exhaust, the factory JCW exhaust does flow OK, but the JCW pro exhaust with the dual valves will flow much better in sport mode. There are a couple other options, but you’ll pay about the same for a non-valved exhaust, and more for a valve option. NM Engineering makes a nice large bore non-valved exhaust.

You also mentioned wheels and suspension. I’ll avoid a discussion on wheels, since they are like shoes. Everyone has their own style, and they come very subjective. For suspension, if your car has the JCW adaptive suspension, you’ll have to take that into consideration. Keep your eyes on Bilstein, as they have some newer coilovers options coming for the F60 Countryman platform.
