Squeak when turning hard right and now ABS, asc light coming on
The lights come on suddenly but then might go away and then not come on for days. In your opinion what could be causing the squeaking when turning the steering wheel all the way to the right?
ABS and ASC Lights coming on at the same time normally points to a wheel coder or sensor (ABS Ring and or pick-up sensor) it works like this ...
The pick-up sensor is Item #2 ... but before replacing anything you need to get in there and check the connections and the suspension parts, check to see if anything is loose or out of whack. This can also possibly throw the Tire Pressure warning light as well.
Just a wild guess;
You may want to get the front end up in the air - Check that your caliper has not come loose, outer balljoint, or possibly a brake pad has broken loose? If I'm not mistaken, the wear sensor is on the front left on a Mini. ...at least it is on my 04 R53.
I had an abs sensor go bad - replaced it, went bad again quickly. It was the wheel bearing - it went bad, and was hitting the sensor. These guys are getting old. Stick with good bearings / NSK / ***. I got mine at FCPEuro. Left went to 150k, right to 185k. Secure the car, and tug on the wheel, both up and down and left / right.

I had all the wheel bearings replaced less than a year ago but it could be the aftermarket part was cheap of that is the case.
