R60 No power to Driver window switches or mirror adjustment
No power to Driver window switches or mirror adjustment
I have no power to the window switches or mirror adjustment also heated seats don't work. Idk if the heated seats are related. Neither worked when I bought the car 2 months ago.The blinker didn't work and when I got a oil change don't they told me the blinkers was (it wasn't) but I started by sending the FRM3 off. They cleaned up corrosion on connection and fixed some codes. But it didn't fix anything. Next I got a new switch cluster from the dealership. That didn't fix it and all fuses are fine. What else could it be? I can roll all the windows down with the unlock button on the key fob..... Also can't roll back windows down with rear switches but I can roll them up but the switches are backwards. Down rolls the back windows up but up doesn't roll them down. I got the driver windows up by putting 12v straight to the motor after realizing the key fob would roll them down. What else could it be?
I'm not convinced all the corrosion from the electrical pins & sockets are cleaned from your FRM if the turn signals (blinkers) still don't work.
Your new switch cluster (driver's door) sends the command to move the rear windows through the HVAC controller, then to the JBE. The switches in the rear doors are wired directed to the JBE. If you have a sunroof, you need to clean your sunroof drain tubes (removing the front wheel well liners give the best access), THEN repair your JBE. No point fixing your FRM and JBE if they keep getting exposed to water due to clogged sunroof drains.
From the MINI training literature:
Power Window Sequence of Operation
The front power window motors are controlled by the FRM, as on
the R56. The JBE now controls the rear electric windows.
Opening and closing of the rear side windows is controlled by two
relays in the Junction Box.
Front Windows
The power window buttons on the switch panel for the front door
windows are detected directly by the air conditioning control unit
(IHKA/IHKS). The air conditioning control unit sends the signal to
the FRM over the K-CAN. The footwell module activates the corresponding
power window motor.
Rear Windows
The power window buttons on the switch panel for the rear door
windows is also detected directly by the air conditioning control
unit (IHKA/IHKS). The air conditioning control unit sends the signal
to the JBE over the K-CAN. The Junction box electronics receives
the signal and activates the corresponding power window motor.
When the power window buttons in the rear doors are operated,
the signal from the switches are hard wired to the Junction box
electronics. The Junction box electronics operates the relevant
rear power window motor.
