Troubleshoot Xenon Headlights Not Leveling

I recently realized that my xenon headlights are not moving at all. While I know the brackets for the sensors are connected to the control arms, I'm wondering if anyone has any other guidance for troubleshooting. Is there any way to identify which sensor is bad or if it's an issue with the actual headlights? Neither side seems to move, so I'm inclined to believe it's a sensor issue, but trying to address it logically instead of just firing the parts cannon.

Hello,

Should pull up on the Schwaben tool when you go under lighting or modules. It should give you a fault code. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-schwaben...020sch01a~scf/

Might have to dig through the sections.

Thanks Mike

There are leveling sensors in the front and the back. First check to ensure they are connected then replace one at a time if necessary.

According to the scanner, both of the sensors are providing data... So now I guess it's a matter of figuring out if the motors in the headlights are bad. Maybe time to pick up some of the Archaic LED headlights if I can't get these working. Anyone know if the Archaics work with the original auto-leveling system? I'm reading mixed opinions online.

There is a motor/ arm that levels the headlight. The end of the arm has a ball joint inside the headlight housing that popped out on one of mine. *My hood latch is a little off so I have to give it a firm push to close and turns out, it’s just enough to pop the ball joint out. You can access it through one of the door/ openings on the headlight housing. First time it happened, I removed the whole headlight, now I can do it with a screwdriver without removing the housing.
I will see if I can find some pictures

Thanks for finding that. Unfortunately, my headlights are 2004 pre-facelift and look a bit different. I can see the manual adjustment screws going towards the bulb but I'm not seeing an arm or something for the auto-adjustment.
