Motor Mount Defect Not Covered

My 2019 S had 23K miles on it when the dealer informed me that the motor mount was leaking hydraulic fluid and needed replacement. The car was under the CPO warranty, but the repair was not covered. They stated that if the work was not done, any related problem that might have been covered would not be covered. Not too long before that I hit a bad pot hole and the dealer advised that could have caused the problem, so I paid the $1300.

Last week, when my wife's 2020 Countryman S, with 25K miles, was in for an oil change, they found the same motor mount issue. The quote is $2200.

Service adviser states that the hydraulic fluid is there to minimize vibrations. I've been driving for almost 60 years and never, ever had a motor mount issue. Adviser stated that all manufacturers' motor mounts are made the same.

I will be fighting with MINI/BMW because this is absolute ********! This is clearly an issue with a poorly designed part and EVERY S should be recalled and the mount replaced for free!

What's the experience of this group with this issue?

We have a bunch of thread here on the replacement and much better cost options. Also an upgrade is available (yellow poly inserts) to help prevent wear in the future. If an easy replace with simple tools or shop that works on MINIs.

Sometime the dealership if you complain enough will do a "goodwill". But its up to the dealership, and its dealership by dealership.

We see failed mounts on VW and BMWs a lot also. Not just a MINI thing. Those makes blow through mounts like crazy.

" The car was under the CPO warranty, but the repair was not covered. " That's weird, never heard of a CPO not covering unless they consider it a wear item??? I know CPO does not cover tires and wear, like brake pads if abused.
