I carry two pair of glasses in my 2024 F56 JCW. Sunglasses for those bright days and eyeglasses for lower visibility driving times. Looking for some ideas on where to best keep them. Center arm rest is equipped with a wireless charging pad. I am using it and not planning on removing. So among the usual suspects remains some visor holder.
Any recommendations? I am sure someone came up with clever solutions.

I have the wireless car charger that goes in front of the shifter, it does a pretty crappy job at charging my phone but does a great job at being a little shelf for my glasses.
Right, I think this was where the charger was on earlier model years?
The pocket below toggles is quite small and deep in my car, so it's not too convenient to fish for glasses in there especially while driving. I'm actually happy with the charging pad in arm rest. It has a bracket that holds the phone in place and even if I forget the phone in the car it's out of sight. No problem with charging, but no room for glasses unfortunately.

It's actually just an aftermarket one, don't think there was ever a Mini version of it. I do plan on going to the junkyard to find a sunglass holder that matches the hole size of the passenger grab handle. If that doesn't work, I can at least cannibalize one to 3D print one - unless someone has a better idea of where to put it.
Never seen these aftermarket charging pads. For some reason I remember at least Clubman at some point having a factory charging pad in that same location, without a shelf though. But I might be imagining it.
Hi all - like the OP, I also use 2 glasses and I'm forever looking for ideas on keeping them close & convenient. Just wanted to pass along some 3D printed options I've seen & tried... albeit they're not perfect (for me). I seem to default back to using my door pockets. My Discovery had a
, I wish my F55 had that instead of the extra visor. BTW, I also nest my sunglasses into the round 'headliner divot' above the driver's visor, sunglasses facing the roof. Not pretty, but it seems to hold firm until needed. Anyway, subscribing to this thread for more ideas!
I keep one pair in my shirt pocket and one pair on my face. I don't understand only using glasses sometimes.
Why use glasses only sometimes? For sunglasses I believe it's obvious. For prescription - my particular situation is I don't need to wear glasses all the time. I only need them when driving in reduced visibility conditions, e.g.: at night or during really bad weather. That's why I keep both pairs in the car and not on me as I only use them when needed.

Thanks for sharing those! I've seen them and don't think I am a big fan of how they look either. I used 3D printed parts in the past but not for something I am going to be seeing on a daily basis in my car

I can technically drive without glasses, but I can see better with them so I wear them all the time. I basically always have both pairs with me.
Do you use the charger in the arm rest? If not, you could remove the charging apparatus and create some usable space. I keep a pair of non-prescription sunglasses in there that I wear when I play sports (prescription glasses throw off my depth perception).
I used to keep my glasses in the arm rest in my R56, but charger in F56 is actually doing a great job so far. I like it and intend to keep it.
After browsing online and looking at countless options I decided to try out a simple magnetic holder for two sets of glasses that mounts on visor.
Have one in order. Will see how it works once it arrives and post my thoughts here after trying it out. Looks like this:
Another idea is to get a hidden storage compartment above your glove compartment - though you'd still need a case to have the glasses in.
I like the idea of those 3D printed parts but the part that's annoying is that my visors are used a ton, and they'd get it in the way. The one below the ignition does sometimes have to charge my phone and touching the glasses/smudging them would get annoying

I've seen couple of threads discussing retrofit here on NAM. I liked secret compartment in R56, however based on discussions retrofit would require to order new trim panel and I have 1TO6 edition. Doubt I can find replacement panel for secret compartment door with the badge on it.
The holder has arrived and I had a chance to use it. Let me start with the first impression. Material feels nice, almost surprising for the super low price. Overall feeling this thing is going to last. The holder is a bit bigger than I expected. I have attached a picture that should give you an idea.
It can be mounted on visor either horizontally or vertically closer to the rear view mirror, otherwise it's going to interfere with the visor mirror lid. It's fairly easy to slide the holder on a visor. Solid clip holds it in place and doesn't allow any movement. Magnets are strong and thanks to elastic bands you are able to hold glasses with thin or thick frames without issues.
I decided to mount holder horizontally for now. Quite easy to reach and grab the glasses with one hand. When visor is flipped down glasses don't create any problem or visual obstacle.
Will see how it holds over time, but seems to be a solution I'm happy with, at least for now.
This is not an ideal solution, but a compromise that seems to be working for me. I am also going to try it out on a side visor as opposed to the front one to see if it works better there.
