Loss of power, Misfire, Fixed itself after more driving?
Loss of power, Misfire, Fixed itself after more driving?
I was allegedly going a bit fast maxing out 5th gear and was full gas in 6th for about 5-10 minutes and suddenly I lost all power. Slowing down I notice this misfire like noise and the check engine light flashing at me. My ******* decided not to stop and I kept driving because I was very close to home. After a minute it seemed to just fix itself, no more misfire and full power back?
Could this have been caused by a loose connector? Should I worry about my motor dying? (It's at 174k miles)

I had encountered a (odd) similar situation after spark plug replacement Limp mode - no trouble codes? - post #2 .
Mini ran fine after pulling over, shut down and restart. Upon evaluating possible cause and cleaning no more issues (SES).
Could have been a clogged injector ?

It could also be a cracked insulator on a spark plug, I chased a misfire for over a year, had it at the dealer AND an Indy shop, finally pulled the plugs for another reason and it was totally clear what the misfire cause was.
