I've finally obtained my current dream car. A 2015 British racing green convertible roadster S. Sure it has a few miles and some front bumper and hood damage, but the interior is immaculate. I will be posting pictures of before and after once I get it in my garage.
Things I want to do:
Install current oem head unit to utilize car play and such, if possible.
Install led lights in headlights and fog lights
Install tuning to get the extra 20hp it claims
Things needed to do:
Repair radiator and replace mounting bracket
Replace headlight units
Replace hood
Replace bumper cover
Paint
If anyone has any insight on how to handle my list of problems, please don't hesitate to respond or contact me directly.
Finally was able to get the car professionally looked at and found some more problems. The turbo and waste gate plus the water pump was damaged in the original accident which is requiring me to replace. I have it at the Texas Mini guru's shop, Open Road Mini. Hopefully it will be repaired soon and I can get it on the road with the top down.
Some photos of the newly found damage.
Wow your interior really IS immaculate!
Also, I dunno if the repairs on your car feel like a lot to you or not, but forge ahead. It's not as bad as it could be, and once you're done, you'll look back and not remember half of the repairs.
That's a gorgeous car and totally worth saving.
As for me, in Sept '24, I got myself a Green, one-owner, 2013 Roadster S. The body is pristine and the interior is all there and not damaged, but even though it only had 74K miles when I bought it, I believe the previous owner spent it with the top down the entire time. This one came from Florida and I live in Texas, so I'm familiar with the wear and tear of the sun.
Also I love the color of your interior. My seats and trim are in Polar Beige, so you know, dirty white. ugh.
But!...leather is a hobby of mine and I'm currently in the process of dyeing all that dirty white an 'English Bridle', as Tandy leather calls it. But it's super similar to yours. Which is great, this way I'm getting to see what my interior will look like when done...lol
As for the sun burnt black plastic on my interior, I'm using Cerakote Ceramic Trim Coat. I use it on the outside plastic of my car and it really does last 100+ washes. So on the interior, it brought it back to looking new. Clean well though first, being ceramic it's a coating, so it will also preserve DIRT...lol. So Simple Green clean first, dry well, then coat.
Good luck! Miss Kitty, my 2013 Roadster
Jed,
Nice looking roadster yourself. I wasn't looking for a British Racing Green roadster, just one that would be mine. Was lucky in finding this one and obtaining it. It started in Pennsylvania, then to Houston, then to Needville, then to Haslet, and should be in my driveway back in Needville before too long. I've had it in my possession since August of last year and I have only started it once. I haven't even driven it. Once Open Road Mini is done, I plan on driving it back from Haslet to Needville with the throttle wide open, top down, and a big grin on my face. Looking forward to the call.
I've finally taken possession of Monty and he runs fast for a 10 year old. I was able to rifle through the gears and everything seems smooth. I still need to get him inspected and tags but should have that done by the end of today. Once I get a chance to wash and detail him, I'll post the final pictures. I'm just so excited to be able to finally drive the car.
Monty's on the road and running like he just came off the assembly line. I haven't been able to take some proper pictures because my other Mini is having troubles. Once we get the gremlins out of them, I plan on taking pictures of them together and posting.
I've got a red R53, that's acting up, that I'd like to get some pics with together. Both are convertibles so Id like to get them on the beach and go topless. Get some NSFW pics of them sitting on the beach.
Reminds me of my grandparents had a Pontiac G6 Convertible & were members of the Montgomery County Topless Club
My R57 is a non-functional topless. Need to sort the FRM so I can actually use the top. Would hate to get the top down & have the FRM go into fail mode & not be able to close it. Especially with these storms Houston has been getting the past few days.

The first year roadsters had manual top down/up
Some liked that for that concern. But really we like our automatic top. More flexible when driving. We've drove top down in many light rain weather where we can simply slow down and put it up until it passes
I only which it took less than 6 second. which isn't horrible.
