issue with rear side window

Hi. I just acquired a new-to-me 2008 R52.

All the windows go up and down normally, and the roof opens and closes normally as well.

HOWEVER, the driver-side rear side window only goes up this far. I don't hear any janky noises as if it's broken - I'm assuming it's some kind of safety lockout.

I'm sure this is a question that's been answered here a bunch already, but I haven't found anything similar yet. Any troubleshooting tips would be really appreciated.

Thanks!

UPDATE:
I've run a few more tests to get more symptoms. The roof will retract all the way, and you can then raise both side rear mirrors all the way to the top positions. Then when you put the roof back up, both rear side windows retract partially , and when the roof is completely close, the right-side rear window goes all the way shut, but the left side does not. So the window does appear to have a full range of motion, just some kind of faulty control sensation.

TIA for any key words to google or any ideas. Thanks!

Maybe the hall sensor. Or it sticking due to a bad window regulator.

Its not the hardest job to remove the window assembly (an hour, maybe two, just don't drop anything down into the body), then once its out you can hook it up and see what the issue might be for range of motion. My money is on some sort of snafu with the cable.

Turns out the window was just out of alignment. I found a YouTube on how to remove the entire window assembly, and once I got it loose, I figured I'd try to watch it do its thing, and it was fine. So I tightened everything back up and it's been going strong ever since.

Thanks for the tips!
