A couple questions...Alpine/Pioneer and IceLink...

Well I got my sub and my amp should be on the way soon. I want to finish off my system so I need a deck. Here are the 2 I'm looking at, let me know what you guys think, any advice or opinions would be great.
- Alpine CDA-9835
- Pioneer DEH-P9600MP

I also have another question. I want to put my ipod in my car and I'm wondering does the IceLink and/or IceLink Plus work with these aftermarket decks? Also, with either the IceLink or IceLink Plus, do I have to use the controls on the deck to control the music, or can I control it on the ipod like your would normally?

Icelink will only work with older Mbus Alpine stereos not AInet - although Alpine do have their own ipod link available (without cradle)

Icelink will not work with Pioneer, Pioneer are bringing out their own ipod link

Hmm, well that sucks. I'm not to sure if im a big fan of the alpine ipod adapter, because you can't control the song with the ipod, only with the deck (correct me if I'm wrong here). And also theres no cradle, which sucks.

Will the IceLink work with decks with "Ai-Changer" controls, or is that the same thing as "Ai-Net"?

Aight, thats what I thought. Am I right though about the not being able to control your music through the ipod rather than the deck with the alpine system?

YES if you have the right brand

Denison does make ICE-link for a few aftermarket units. I believe it interfaces through the aftermarket unit's CD changer port.

Here is the link.
