Door Sensor?
Door Sensor?
2006 R50 140,000 miles. It seems that the car or the body module does not recognize that the driver's door is closed. The door latch works mechanically, electric windows work, except that the window does not close that extra half inch upon closing because, I think, the door is not recognized as being closed. The dome light and electric locks behave as though the driver's door is always open, too. Where is the mechanism that signals door closed/open to the brain? I don't see a plunger on the door or jamb.
Bumping and subscribing for interest. Links in case they help; recommend see the schematic and microswitch / connector discussion and pictures, issue source was ultimately different but related:

the bad news: if it is the microswitch, and can't be revived/unstuck, the lowest replaceable assembly appears to be the lock, >$200, OEM only part:

As always used on ebay is naturally cheaper.
the good news: passenger side, no lock cylinder to rekey!
Edit: also found this, which discusses removal, disassembly, and rebuilding the lock actuator. He does not address the microswitch but it is plainly visible in the video:
Note however, the car is also RHD.
Hopefully others will weigh in with their experiences. Good luck.
