Begging for help. Drivers door won’t open all of a sudden. Inside and outside cables are good, lock rod goes up and down when locking/unlocking. I’ve pulled the door panel and glass, been prying on the latch leveler manually and nothing, cannot get the door open at all. Is there any kind of safety release to just get the door open? I tried prying the door open but naturally the metal of the door is bending. It’s a loss here. I don’t know what else to do at this point beside literally cut the door off?
Are you refering to the decorative, visible door panel or the panel behind it (on which amongst others the window mechanism is attached to)?
I was in a similar position a couple of months ago after having removed everything but the locking mechanism from the door. In my case, the reason for the lock mechanism not releasing the door was the inadequate insertion of the interior bowden cable. The indicator on the bowden housing has to lign up with the indicator on the "socket" (see attached pictures).
