UGH - I'm an idiot. MODS please move this to Gen2.

Hi, I have the 6 speaker base radio. No pods on A-pillars. No iPod module, but do have aux and USB connections and CD changer pre wire in dash (if any of this info is helpful). It’s the silver unit that looks exactly like this

Both the volume and sound quality are not impressive. My question is, does this HU use an external amp or is it baked in? The volume seems quite low so before I get too far I thought I’d see what I’m working with.
