Installing a CD changer in a 2009?

My 2009 is supposed to be wired for a 6-CD changer. The dealer said if I bought one I could not install it myself because the computer would need to be re-programed. I would not think the CD player has anything to do with the computer. I'm wondering if the CD player from a 2007 would be the same as a 2008/2009. The dealer wants $1,000 for the changer + installation of about $200.00. That is $1,200.00 which I think is way out of line.
My question is: Has anyone added a CD changer to a 2007 up and were there any problems? Has anyone gone to Circuit City or Best Buy and had a changer or I-Pod installed?
I admit I am electricly STUPID.
Also, there is a AUX plug in the front of my radio. What is that for?

Nearly every thing on this car requires programming. The radio is tightly integrated it the car's computer.

Re: the aux plug. Use it to connect your iPod.

And my all means, do not let the "highly qualified" installers at BB or CC hack into your car - if you want to go that route, find a real install shop.

As OWG said EVERYTHING has to be programed to work.

There are some other questions that need to be answered to ensure that you can actually use the Multi CD changer.

Do you have any kind of iPod hook up and if so where are the connections for it and do you have a USB port in the car?

One of the iPod interfaces takes up the CD changer Slot.

What it the Part number on the CD changer from a 07 that you want to use?

I can check to see if it can work for you.

Where exactly is the AUX connector located. I beleve it should be down below the window controls. It that correct? If not can you take a picture of where it so that i can see exaclty what you are talking about.
