MINI specialist Seattle area? LSD install.

Does anyone have recommendations for a MINI repair specialist around Seattle. I'm over on the North Olympic Peninsula near Port Angeles, but no one close by really knows MINI's. I just got quoted nearly $3,000 labor to install an LSD. Is that normal? I'd like to install a Quaife.
Cheers!

That actually sounds about right. Think it through, it’s just slightly more complex than a clutch install, which is why most are doing the LSD at the same time as the clutch job. Maybe it’s time for you learn some wrenching skills and expanding your capabilities? It’s not a difficult job to pull the transmission on a Mini, just time consuming. I did mine in two days. If it’s not your main vehicle for daily driving, expanding the task to a week or so (if you have the space) would make it a bit more relaxing. Plan it out, start collecting parts and tools, then start pulling things apart!

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate your point of view, but I'm done working on cars. Life is too short and I'm in my "Autumn" years. Fortunately, money is less important than time for me. I will just bite the bullet and have it done. I have my S2000 to keep me occupied while the MINI undergoes surgery. I think I've found a good shop with some dedicated techs. I'm just happy that I finally have another JCW in my life. And I wouldn't mind finding a Chili Red R53 to keep it company!
Cheers!

Resurrecting an old thread but...

We've been happy so far with Precision Motorworks which is at the base of Magnolia along 15th just south of Ballard. We've only had a little work done there but so far so good.
