Switched Power - MINI R56 S LCI - Where to find?

Hello,

I drive a MINI Cooper S R56 LCI.
I need a tip where I can find a switched power signal.
The fuse for the cigarette lighter transfers a power signal as soon as the car gets unlocked. And there is also power while the car is running. The problem is that the power stays on at least 15 or 30 minutes after the car is locked and the engine is off.

Is there a power signal which gets off when the engine shuts off und the key gets removed? Can I find it in the junction box at any of the fuses? Can somebody tell me the fuse number?

Thanks a lot!
Greetings

This may be helpful!

Not sure if they're the same, as mines an f57, but from searching tons regarding hardwiring a dash cam, check out fuse 42 as a possible switched power source. Going to try and attach a file of my fuse box diagram so you can compare! No credit to me as I downloaded the pics from a post I found during my search! Hope it helps! The red is constant power, yellow is switched...

Have you checked how the power socket in the boot behaves in your car?

My 2010 LCI came without the "smokers package", i.e. there is no ash tray and no cigarette lighter. The power socket in the front (in which the cigarette lighter would have been if there were one) is only powered while the engine is running (even "ignition on" by itself does not activate the socket, the engine must be running). The same applies to the power socket in the boot. Maybe the socket in your boot has no power, too, when the engine is cut off.

Please note: I'm in Germany, my car is german spec.

I don't want to discourage Bumme56 from trying fuse 42 (or any other). Just wanted to point out that fuse placement (and their numbers in the fuse diagram) is not constant in the 2nd generation Minis.

I figured they were probably different, but maybe helpful in finding the correct circuit to tap! Thanks for confirming!

My 2011 MCS is like that. I did not like the idea the engine has to be running when using a handheld 12V vacuum cleaner in the car, but my thoughts were if one is using a portable inflator, you'd have a pumped up tire and and a dead battery otherwise

Hey there - 2013 Cooper S here (Gen 2 LCI)- I am currently running 2 different accessories on switched fuses #32 and 44. 32 is the parking assist which my car doesn't have, and 44 is the larger blade fuse for the accessory power.

Hello,

thanks! That sounds great.
And it is a real switched power signal?

I think the cigarette lighter has power for 30min even if the engine is off and the car is locked.

I need a real ignition switched power signal. So when the key is removed the power signal should end immediately. Do fuse 32 or 44 offer this?

Thanks!

Both accessories (only) turn on with the initial button push, and both power off when I push the button to turn it off.
