I swear my luck is never good. Last bolt to separate the heat exchanger decided to break 😑

 

A sharp drill bit in a drill press I have been lucky with drilling out bad bolts looks corroded?

 

Yeah there is definitely corrosion. I drilled it out heated it up then broke a tap. So now hopefully I can drill out the entire thing including the broken tap and ima try and helicoil it. I know the tap is hardened but with how small it is I might get lucky

 

They have a tool call EZ out you drill into the stud or bolt and it removes it.........

 

Lubricate!

 

Taps are extremely hard and drilling them out is almost impossible. I have had better luck with a hammer and small chisel busting them up in the hole. Never been able to drill one out.

Did you mean an EZ out, not a tap.

 

I tried that along with heat and the ez out broke….Continuing trying to get it out the housing cracked
