Introducing My 2007 Mini Cooper S R52 from Barcelona

Hey everyone,

I wanted to introduce my Mini Cooper S R52 from Barcelona! It's a 2007 model with a Dark Silver color, and it's equipped with a JCW Aero kit and Sparco JCW seats. The seats are black on red leather, which gives the car a unique and sporty look. I'm attaching some photos of the car so you can see it for yourself.

I've done quite a bit of work on the car already, including replacing the whole subframe suspension parts, doing maintenance on the supercharger, replacing the auxiliary belt and tensioner, and replacing the radiator fan speed 1 resistor, as they usually fail. However, there's still more work to be done. I need to replace the shocks, front engine mount, and some exterior and interior cosmetic details.

Despite the work that still needs to be done, I'm loving driving this car around. It's quick, nimble, and a blast to drive. Plus, it turns heads wherever I go.

If anyone else has this model or has done similar upgrades, I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations. Let's chat!

Beautiful. how many km on it?

And, if you don't mind me asking, what does an R52 S cost In Spain? I'm thinking of getting one here and they're typically between $5000 to $15000 in the USA.

Also, my daughter will spend July in Barcelona on a high school program. She may even have had a few lessons in Barry The Cooper by then!

Cheers

Awesome, glad to see one with the factory JCW gen 1 recaros.

Even has the red JCW leather dash and downtubes. Super rare. Thats like a $50K MINI back in the day.

Does not look like it has the JCW Tuning kit exhaust? Stock tips.

Hey man,

Bought it with 81.000km in July 2022, already has 90.000km. Unfortunately all the kms done by the previous owner were in the city, so the car took quite the beating.

Pricing wise I was quite lucky, as I personally know the previous owner and he sold it to me for 7.000€. An R53 with the same extras and mileage goes around 10.000€ (without the JCW engine). I'm assuming an equivalent R52 usually goes between 12.000 and 15.000€ . If you discard the JCW extras you could look at something around 8.000€ and 12.000€.

Let's see if your daughter spots the car when she's here!

Cheers,
Calin

Hi,

Well, the Recaros are actually Sparco! Not the GP1 Recaros, of course. Look wise I like these better than the GP seats, but I don't know if the Recaros are better in confort.

Yes, it has almost all the JCW goodies. If I recall correctly, the previous owner told me it was something between 35.000€ and 40.000€.

You looked at the right details, the car doesn't have the JCW engine (maybe that explains the car's original price), therefore it doesn't have the JCW exhausts. I'm considering tuning the engine and putting the JCW exhaust there, but I'm scared the value of the car will go down.

Cheers,
Calin

If you get a JCW Tuning kit for it with the exhaust it will go up, even more rare. They got everything except the part that gives you more power and sound.
