F54 Upper Engine Mount busing replacement
Hello everyone,
I would like to know the tips to replace upper engine mount. Besides the headlight, do i have to remove anything else in order to access and remove the upper engine mount?
Thank you for any helps and tips

mine was done at 65k at an independent shop. I had them put in the powerflex bushings to hopefully extend the life a bit. It was spendy indeed, but about 1/3 less than the dealer wanted for the same part.
I have some posts in that linked thread above. On my ‘17 S ALL4 Manual transmission I only need to remove the headlight. I’ve done it a bunch testing different mounts and it can be done in about 1 hour with practice.
There’s a lot of wiggling and trying different angles to squeeze it in and out, but it’s absolutely possible (without removing & opening A/C pipes).
It also helps to keep the jack under the engine (place it where the lower torque mount attaches) and move the engine up/down a few inches while trying to get the mount in/out. It’ll help get the mount in/out - allows different angles.
There also a little screw behind a plastic shield.
I’d have to track down a photo to point it out. I actually cut a small hole in the plastic shield to access the screw. I hate to hack stuff like that, but it will save a huge amount of time and is a cheap, hidden piece.

I’d also order 2x part number 64539209732 “ball pin” and 2x 07149209733 “pipe clip”. They screw into the mount and clip around AC lines. Very easy to break.
