Engine Mounts

Im planning on replacing several engine mounts this coming week (upper, lower and passenger side). I've seen a how to on the oil filled one and everything seems pretty straight forward. However i haven't been able to find any how tos on the other mounts. It seem like they will be fairly easy too. Basically jack the car up, support the engine, move some crap outa the way, replace mounts. Just to make sure however i would be more comfortable if i could follow a guide.

Can anyone link me to a how to guide on either mount? I imagine they are fairly simple so if guides aren't available or required does anyone have any tips/tricks for me? Do i need any special equipment?

Thanks for tips and help !

Check the How-To section, most likely one in there. You need a E12 Torx to remove the nut holding the bottom of the upper mount. Other than that, it's pretty much straight forward, support the engine, remove the mount, replace, re-install. If you do the transmission mount, you have the remove the air filter box.

Yeah, the transmission one is the hardest IMHO but it just requires removing more stuff to get at the bolts.

If you read the terms of service...
They will read the address you post in the pm...it is still not private..so much for synergy between sites....
Funny how SOME sites get ×××××× out, and some don't......
If it is the diy I am thinking of...it is a good one...

All went well enough once i ripped my passenger mount out in two pieces.....guess it was about time to replace that one .

Only problem now is the oil i found sprayed all in my passenger side wheel well, not oil from the mount i think, and on the my oil pan area . Really hoping i just parked in a puddle of it at the harbor freight parking lot and not coming from my car. I havent seen any spots where i park regularly and my levels seemed ok so heres crossing my finger on that one. Any idea where/how it might have gotten in my wheel well if it is indeed coming from me car?

Besides that all i have to worry about now is that my interior is guna rattle itself apart so any tips on quieting trim panels would be appreciated.

Thanks for all the tips and links!

Inside of your wheel-well, may be a leaky strut seal or possibly oil pan gasket.

Maybe clean the wheel-well and watch it over a few days but not to panic.
