** Not exactly "Drivetrain" but, best sub-segment I can find for the question, I think!
Folks,
About finished with my retrofit of the R56 JCW BBK onto my R52. One thing holding me back is the parking/emergency brake line. The bottom part of the cable fits within a round bore on the stock rear caliper, where as the R56 JCW rear caliper is a rectangular peg.
The obvious solution is to install the R56 e-brake cables. But 1) installing it is a pain, what with having to remove the exhaust and insulation and whatnot, and 2) don't want to delay finishing the job ...
So one suggestion from a friend is to cut/dremmel the round fitting so it fits within the rectangular peg. I'm about to give it a go ... figured it if it doesn't work out, then okay, I'll cut my loses and just buy and install R56 parking brake cables. But curious if anyone has done this or has done anything else similar to retrofit the R52/R53 e-brake cable onto the R56 JCW rear caliper.
