R55 O2 sensor woes??
O2 sensor woes??
Hi all,
My Clubman (non turbo N12) has been acting weird lately. There is a bit of a dead spot under moderate acceleration (around 1500-2000 rpms) and some occasional annoying jerking when accelerating gently in a lower gear, as in traffic. I've changed the plugs, the coil packs, and the fuel filter myself. I also changed the PVC diaphragm thing.
My CEL came on and I used a generic code reader. It showed two codes:
276A DME: Catalytic Converter Conversion
2AC1 DEM: Oxygen Sensor Before Catalytic Converter: Plausability
I cleared the codes and took it to my local mechanic. He tested the fuel pressure and he measured something else to see if the exhaust was plugged. Said the clutch is OK. He couldn't find anything wrong.
A few days later, the CEL came on again. I used a different code reader this time as the borrowed one from before wasn't available.
Now I'm getting these codes:
P2096 Post catalytic converter fuel trim (FT), bank 1 - too lean
2AC2 (it doesn't say what this one is but google says 'O2 sensor (bank, sensor 1) mixture too lean')
I think I'll need to take it to a Mini specialist but I'm just curious if any of you learned folks might have any ideas.
Thanks so much.
