Whining sound from under hood when closing door

Just got a 2023 4 door hardtop S and noticed a whining sound from under the hood that lasts a second or two when closing the door with the engine off. Does not happen every time.

I was at the dealer today picking up plates and asked service counter rep about the sound and he said he never heard it. He went to ask the service manager and when he came back he said the service manager nor a tech ever heard of it. Went to show salesman and it did not make the sound, but he said his does it and is probably the computer. Weird noise for a computer.

Is this something that anyone else has heard on their mini of any age, and is it normal? I would have thought the tech working on the cars all day would have heard of it if it was normal.

thanks!

My 2004 R50 does the same thing. Weird to hear that a new one does it as well. I guess it's normal all of these years of Mini's? When I turn off the Mini, exit and close my door I hear a humming/whine noise from under the hood for about 1.5 seconds. Did you ever get an answer?

i have a 2012 Mini Cooper s countryman, and i have this same thing going on. Ive looked into it and it turns out its the oil pump continuing to pump oil to the turbo, kinda like priming it, after it runs, it clicks a few times. My situation could be completely different from yours, but its an idea
