Description:

I was posting a few parts out one by one, but then realized I should just make a part-out listing. I am turning our 2006 R53 MCS into a dedicated track car, so I will be stripping it down & replacing a lot of parts with race parts over the next few months. If there is any part (especially HVAC, Audio, Interior, Accessories, etc...) that you want please PM or reply and I will let you know if it's still available and we can figure out a cheap price for it. I'm not trying to make money on this, but don't want to throw parts into the garbage either. If a part is useful to someone and you can take it off my hands and give me a bit of cash towards my expenses of building a track car, then it's a win-win.

I'm doing this conversion in my spare time slowly, so some of the parts might be a couple months before I have them off & available, but trying to get it out there to gauge interest now & make sure I keep stuff for folks who are interested

Some items I'm planning on removing from the car to make available (and approx. date when I think I'll get around to them):

HVAC (A/C compressor, condenser, heater core, control panel in car) - ~1-2 months
OEM shocks & springs - ~2-3 months (2 people on wait list already)
Seats - ~3-4 months (1 person on wait list)
Interior plastic trim pieces, center dash, glove box, etc... - ~1-5 months
visors - ~1-3 months
Interior carpets - ~1-5 months
Sunroof motor - ~1-5 months

I'm sure there are other things if you just ask, but those are the big ones I have on my list to strip out

Thanks

Picture Title Part Category Price Part Description
Almost anything... Accessories $1 Just started parting the car out, so almost everything is available. The sound system is pretty much gone, and the seats were reupholstered by me with so-so quality so not sure anyone wants them, but the rest of the car is in decent condition & available. Motor, transmission, or other core parts needed for racing/track days are not for sale. But anything else that could be stripped from a track car is fair game, just make an offer.

No plans to sell that at this time, but if I do go with something more aggressive later will let you know and you can have dibs on this.

Are you selling the front seats? If so, what condition are they in would you be interested in shipping to 33315? Any pics?

Not selling the front seats quite yet, but will be in the next few months once I pick up proper buckets. I can get in touch then and see if you're still interested. I don't know what shipping would cost, but they are pretty heavy.
I reupholstered the seats last year since the original cloth centers were in really bad shape and coming apart. So the leather is in great condition (new), however I am not a professional upholstery person so I would say there are a few minor imperfections in the reupholstery job. I can share pics. The color was supposed to be a "match" from the company making the kit for me, but the blue portions are a bit brighter than space blue so they don't quite match the rest of the interior plastics.

5 spoke flame wheels will be available for sale soon. They are a bit scuffed up but straight & hold pressure fine. Can probably be refinished just fine. I will take & post pictures of the blemishes later tonight.

I bought this car really cheap last year, but it was in need of some elbow grease. I've spent the past several months slowly fixing all the little things it had going on and it's in pretty good shape now. I really don't think selling it to pick up a normal S would really get me much extra money. Besides I like the way the checkmate looks on track :D

Driving lights, brackets, wiring

You don’t need that weight and they’re not very aerodynamic! :P Shipping to 01886 please

Going to be pulling the power steering out soon (maybe this weekend) and do the delete, so if anyone needs reservoir, pump, high pressure line, or fan let me know!

Also, AC probably coming out next month. I have someone in line for the compressor already, but teh rest of the HVAC incuding blower, controls, vents, condensor, etc... will all be available then.

How many miles on the car now? I've got two Space Blue R53 JCWs that I'm restoring (one's a Checkmate as well) and I'm keeping a close eye on your thread....

Wish both headlight washer nozzles were fully intact! Still have the power to components? I've been thinking of going PS delete... Is that what you did?

Just a hair under 120k miles. I went with PS delete. Gearing of the rack is not ideal for being depowered, but I've gotten used to it now. Let me know if there are specific things you're looking for, I'm going to be spending some time over the holidays stripping it down further

Thanks for that info - interesting insight on the rack ratio without the pump's help. Making me think a little more on it... Have fun on the holiday tear down! Nothing like adding lightness! (Colin Chapman)

The topic of a manual rack has intrigued me for a while, my only concern would be a possible increase in bump-steer? I've been meaning to get a junkyard rack to de-power but keeps getting put on the backburner, need to get around to it because it'd be a fun experiment I think.

Want to do a complete and total de-power like many of the Miata guys do where it is an involved deconstruction...

Any pictures of sunvisors? Are they intact; no broken covers?
