What is the difference between modes Eco Pro and Eco Pro+

I came upon this while using Bimmercode.
Thanks.

@VelvetFoot I know I'm necroing this thread, but had the same Q for the same reason and Googled into this discussion over in BMW i3-land:

https://www.mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=443

One of the posts in that thread has a link to an owner's manual page scan that lists the following features of ECO PRO+ as distinct from ECO PRO. Bear in mind the manual it was scanned from is not a MINI manual -- I suspect that ECO PRO+ does not exist on the MINI (as a selectable option outside of BimmerCode and the like, anyway). Items below are quoted directly from the scanned page.
  • Deactivation of the cooling and heating power of the air conditioning system.
  • Deactivation of seat heating.
  • Deactivation of cornering light.
  • Limitation of speed to a maximum value of 90km/h, 55 mph. In special cases, the speed limit can be consciously exceeded by depressing the accelerator pedal.
No idea whether activating ECO PRO+ via BimmerCode in the MINI would fire all that up.

Hope this is of interest.

There is the ability in the dash menu many to use ECO with sport suspension, maybe that is ECO+??

I've never seen or heard of that option -- would be curious to know more about it.

Also, that i3 thread and the owners manual reference within is circa 2014, so things could certainly have changed since then.

.
Do through your center dash menus, you should be able to find it.

Its a reverse thing.
Configure Sport. and uncheck drivetrain. You have Eco drivetrain, and sport suspension/steering

I do have a suspension tuning option under SPORT mode config in the center dash menu — I don’t recall one under the GREEN (aka ECO) settings but will have a look!

No dice. I can go into Sport Mode, Configure Sport, and I have 3 mutually-exclusive options, of which one MUST be checked (no option to deselect all 3):
  • Drivetrain & Chassis
  • Drivetrain
  • Chassis
If I kick Drivetrain out of the mix by selecting Chassis, no additional options (ECO or otherwise) appear onscreen.

If I go into GREEN mode, the only options (no matter what was selected in Configure Sport) are:
  • GREEN speed warning
  • GREEN climate control
  • Coasting

On my '22 S, I have to say, when I turn on the seat heat, I want seat heat and when I turn on the A/C, I want A/C.
I used to drive around in Green Mode a lot, because I liked the coasting.
I think it held a too-high a gear too long sometimes.
I keep it in Normal all the time now. If I really want to coast, I tap the shifter and put it Neutral.
Also, I've been using the paddle shifters to shift up or down on occasion.

I hear you on all points. Haven't done the shift into Neutral thing but I get the idea. Yeah, I pretty much use Green Mode for coasting, and have had to figure out how to tap the pedal at times to get it to kick over into coasting mode. Also have the same observations about Green Mode impact on seat heating and A/C -- though I have gotten used to that (to a point) I have definitely said "eh done with this" a few times and kicked Climate Control out of Green Mode or simply kicked the car out of Green Mode.

An aside about Green Mode and coasting, I spent a little time using BimmerLink to watch battery stats while driving (and coasting in particular). I am a bit concerned that the battery is not getting sufficiently recharged under high use of coasting. Just a hunch, but it's my hunch from watching the numbers move around -- feels a bit borderline.

Plus, with Green mode the gas pedal is less sensitive. I just think Normal mode feels more natural and believe that you can do just as well as Green with judicious use of the go pedal.
Oh, and this was another loss after the ecm reprogram: I set the switches to remember the last choice for auto start and driving mode. I keep it in Normal now, so not a factor, but darn, that Auto Start sucks.

Fully agreed as well on the gas pedal sensitivity question. My other vehicle is a mid-90's Subaru wagon with around 130HP and the torque that matters north of 2500 RPM. In ECO mode the 189HP F56S feels closer to that Subaru in terms of throttle responsiveness unless I lean into it -- which is fine, but the lag is highly discernible (just like my mid-90's Subaru). Normal mode feels more natural, though I have to be careful about how smooth the MINI drives, I can end up at 80MPH before realizing it

Interestingly, I did compare my fuel consumption over time in Normal vs ECO mode and there is a significant difference -- but I don't think it's because of the car/automation. Rather, in ECO mode, I pay attention to that little green bar in the instrument cluster that gives me a more direct read on how hard I am accelerating. In Normal mode, I try to pay that same attention (by ear, since there's no green bar or other visual alternative) but I am not *nearly* as good at it, and end up chewing more gas. I have a little more fun chewing that gas, of course, but you get the idea. So for me personally, the visual feedback in ECO seems to be something I need -- or at least need until I get a better feel for Normal mode driving over time.

I hear you on using BimmerCode to tell it to remember last choice for auto start and driving mode. Right now I have my F56S customization-free because we have to troubleshoot the intermittent loss of power steering assist that it looks like the last software update has triggered on the car, and I don't need the shop going "oh well you touched the computer so that's the problem." Until we get that done the car is staying bone stock, post-wipeout of BimmerCode changes, just like yours, and in that meantime, the loss of those remember-last-choice functions is a whole lotta grrrrrr for sure.
