F55/F56 What is the difference between modes Eco Pro and Eco Pro+
@VelvetFoot I know I'm necroing this thread, but had the same Q for the same reason and Googled into this discussion over in BMW i3-land:
https://www.mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=443
One of the posts in that thread has a link to an owner's manual page scan that lists the following features of ECO PRO+ as distinct from ECO PRO. Bear in mind the manual it was scanned from is not a MINI manual -- I suspect that ECO PRO+ does not exist on the MINI (as a selectable option outside of BimmerCode and the like, anyway). Items below are quoted directly from the scanned page.
Hope this is of interest.

- Deactivation of the cooling and heating power of the air conditioning system.
- Deactivation of seat heating.
- Deactivation of cornering light.
- Limitation of speed to a maximum value of 90km/h, 55 mph. In special cases, the speed limit can be consciously exceeded by depressing the accelerator pedal.
Hope this is of interest.
Also, that i3 thread and the owners manual reference within is circa 2014, so things could certainly have changed since then.
Its a reverse thing.
Configure Sport. and uncheck drivetrain. You have Eco drivetrain, and sport suspension/steering

I do have a suspension tuning option under SPORT mode config in the center dash menu — I don’t recall one under the GREEN (aka ECO) settings but will have a look!
- Drivetrain & Chassis
- Drivetrain
- Chassis
If I go into GREEN mode, the only options (no matter what was selected in Configure Sport) are:
- GREEN speed warning
- GREEN climate control
- Coasting

On my '22 S, I have to say, when I turn on the seat heat, I want seat heat and when I turn on the A/C, I want A/C.
I used to drive around in Green Mode a lot, because I liked the coasting.
I think it held a too-high a gear too long sometimes.
I keep it in Normal all the time now. If I really want to coast, I tap the shifter and put it Neutral.
Also, I've been using the paddle shifters to shift up or down on occasion.

An aside about Green Mode and coasting, I spent a little time using BimmerLink to watch battery stats while driving (and coasting in particular). I am a bit concerned that the battery is not getting sufficiently recharged under high use of coasting. Just a hunch, but it's my hunch from watching the numbers move around -- feels a bit borderline.
Plus, with Green mode the gas pedal is less sensitive. I just think Normal mode feels more natural and believe that you can do just as well as Green with judicious use of the go pedal.
Oh, and this was another loss after the ecm reprogram: I set the switches to remember the last choice for auto start and driving mode. I keep it in Normal now, so not a factor, but darn, that Auto Start sucks.

Interestingly, I did compare my fuel consumption over time in Normal vs ECO mode and there is a significant difference -- but I don't think it's because of the car/automation. Rather, in ECO mode, I pay attention to that little green bar in the instrument cluster that gives me a more direct read on how hard I am accelerating. In Normal mode, I try to pay that same attention (by ear, since there's no green bar or other visual alternative) but I am not *nearly* as good at it, and end up chewing more gas. I have a little more fun chewing that gas, of course, but you get the idea. So for me personally, the visual feedback in ECO seems to be something I need -- or at least need until I get a better feel for Normal mode driving over time.
I hear you on using BimmerCode to tell it to remember last choice for auto start and driving mode. Right now I have my F56S customization-free because we have to troubleshoot the intermittent loss of power steering assist that it looks like the last software update has triggered on the car, and I don't need the shop going "oh well you touched the computer so that's the problem." Until we get that done the car is staying bone stock, post-wipeout of BimmerCode changes, just like yours, and in that meantime, the loss of those remember-last-choice functions is a whole lotta grrrrrr for sure.
