I'd like to mount a fire extinguisher in my F56 S somewhere within arms reach for an emergency; ideally an under seat mount on the driver or passenger side. I'm struggling to find a good solution for this.
First, I tried the universal fit Bracketeer off of Amazon. It fit the rails OK but the seat adjustment bar got in the way of the extinguisher. I'm 5' 9" so the seat is forward of the rail ends (see picture). Looking at a few other fixed seat bolt mounts on Ebay it look like that's a flaw in that design. It would limit moving the seat forward fully.
In looking for mounts that would move with the seat, I found Brey Krause R-2225 . However the installation instructions showed mounting points I didn't see under my seat. I also couldn't visualize how the extinguisher wouldn't be in the same space as the adjustment bar. They didn't have any installed examples.
The Rennline Universal mount says it attaches to either the seat bolts or the sliding rails so it moves with the seat. Unfortunately the installation instructions are really unclear as to how that works.
Given the issues clearing the adjustment bar with a standard 3" bottle, I'm also considering the Element E50. Its form factor seems like it would be easier to work with and maybe even opens up other options like the door card or near the parking brake.
So, if you've got a working solution, thoughts, opinions, I'd love to hear it.
OK, I'll suggest an alternative that isn't specific to any MINI generation or model. I have (3) of these combos; in my Jeep, side-by-side and (sig) R53, which can easily be attached to adjacent fixed member or simply placed behind or under seat as available space allows. The Amerex B417T 2.5 lb bottle is much better quality than typically found at hardware stores and priced accordingly. The bottle size requires somewhat different mount/holders too, thus I use the Bartact padded bottle holder which is retained by strong Velcro straps. The padded holder avoids the bottle rattling around if not otherwise secured. With the bottle inside that holder, no need to remove from that in a fire emergency but instead, simply pull the release straps and deploy retardant while still in the holder. Product links below and could also add representative pics if helpful.

I can visualize how that Bartact easily attaches to a roll bar or a k-brace in the rear, but how would you attach this where it would be accessible by the driver in a stock setup Mini?
^^^ My thought for a strictly street driven MINI is with no need for rigid mounting attachment. Instead, buy the padded holder and simply store on the floor behind driver or passenger seat. Back there, should stay put - unless you roll the car at speed, in which case anything not secured goes flying.

Huh? If you're going to just throw it on the floor in the back why do your even need the holder? Plus it being accessible in a crash is the main reason to have one. Having it being a hazard flying around the cabin makes things worse. You're better off trowing it in the trunk (boot) at least.
I wanted a fire extinguisher in my 2015 F56. I didn’t want to spend $100 plus on a mount, so I took the included bracket and zip tied it to the lower console of my car. Been there for over two years with no issues. Not the prettiest, but it’s effective.
