Seat Mounts

For anyone who is building a track car I wanted to pass along that VAC Motorsports has excellent seat brackets to mount your seat to the floor. I have installed them on my car and they work great, plus they are a beautiful piece of machining. I have a Sparco Evo2 seat, I understand they work with MOMO too (possibly other seats too). Several NAM vendors sell them, I think they cost about $125-130 for one set. If you are tall or come close to the roll bar with your helmet on, I suggust you at least take a look at them.

Also, thanks to Randy Webb for helping me out at Laguna Seca with much needed parts last December.

For those racing at Vegas, have a great time!!

Do these work with side mounted seats only? I have a Momo bottom mount, seat, so, I'm thinking there wouldn't be any clearance by looking at the VAC pictures.

thanks for any info

Sorry I do not know the answer to your question. If nobody chimes in here to answer your question, I would ask a vendor who sells them. Of note, these are very new, I believe I got the first set made. I received them in early Feb.

They have really helped drop my seat which of course lowers center of gravity. Goog luck

I'd like a way to lower the stock seat and if it fits this sounds like it might be the way to go! Proper posture in the MINI right now means any bumps and my head hits the roof, add a helmet and I get a little closer than I'd like to at the track

I am in the finishing stages of mounting my Cobra seats and brackets to the stock sliders ....

It has required some drilling, hack sawing and filing to say the least on the Cobra Side mounts, to fit to the stock slider rails

New, longer 8mm bolts, larger washers and a washer as a spacer under the cobra mounts to make it sit "flush" to the sliders

I didn't want to permanantly mount the seats to the floor at my stage

Here is some info regarding seat brackets for the Mini,

These will work for the race seats and street seats, and are a direct bolt on to the existing floor mounts.

you have the Seatfab seat bracket for $110, this is a flat bracket from the same company that makes the brackets for Sparco,
this will work with any brand seats, you will just have to add a slider, now it is important to match the slider and seat, same brand.

you also have the Wedge bracket, there is a street model adjustable in height and a race model (flat). these are heavier and the cost is aroud $80 to $100.

he have installed 100's of racing seats feel free to email, call or PM if you have any questions

thanks
victor

As clarification, my Sparco side brackets were mounted to the VAC Bracket. The slider was eliminated, which I wanted, (the seat position is fixed) thus dropping the seat down.

Not sure if this was made clear in my previous post or your's above.

Thanks
