For the past 2 days, my accelerator pedal has been making a irritating "clicking" sound whenever its pressed. This happens even when ignition is off. It is obviously the physical pedal that is making the noise and it only needs to be pressed slightly.

Could the pedal mechanism be worn out at 43,000 miles ? Anyone else experience this ? Of course, I am out of Warranty since August.
